Nurse Practitioner Scope of Practice

Nurse Practitioners offer complete primary care

Nurse practitioners are advanced practice nurses with a masters degree in nursing. They are able to provide complete primary care, including exams, diagnostics (labs, imaging), prescription medications, and treatment protocols.

Nurse practitioners can act as your primary care provider, provide health screenings (such as paps), manage chronic conditions (such as diabetes and hypertension), create referrals to other professionals and specialists, order diagnostic imaging (such as x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, etc.), prescribe prescription medications, conduct medical exams, perform simple in-office procedures (such as mole removals), and more.
